Economic Development

Our Economic Development Team have links with many community regeneration initiatives, adding value and encouraging new input with a business perspective. The main roles of the service are to apply policy and strategic thinking to initiatives; ensure community, cultural and economic regeneration; encourage take-up of external funding opportunities and of publicly-funded business and skills support service; assist with inward investment; link with other agencies to ensure business needs are met and opportunities are exploited; and to work with the Employment Service and other agencies to ensure an appropriately skilled workforce is available for now and the future.
